BLESSING is one word in addition to greeting and grace embodied in Islamic greeting Assalamu warohmatullahi wabarokaatuh. Hopefully salvation, God's grace and blessings are always with you (you).
The word blessing is also included in our prayers to the married: baarokalloohu lakuma .... May the blessing of God for you both (bride and groom).
In a Friday sermon, preacher usually closes first sermon with the phrase baarokallohu lii walakum, may the blessings of God for me and for you. Similarly, at the end of the second sermon before closing prayer sermon.
understanding Blessing
According to language, blessing --berasal from Arabic: baraka (البركة), meaning that favors (Al-Munawwir Dictionary, 1997: 78). Another term blessing in Arabic is mubarak and tabaruk.
According to Big Indonesian Dictionary (2008: 179), the blessing is "the gift of God which is the good of human life".
According to the terms, blessing (baraka) means ziyadatul khair, namely "increasing goodness" (Imam al-Ghazali, Encyclopedia of Mysticism, p. 79).
The scholars also explains the meaning of a blessing as everything that many and abundant blessings include the material and the spiritual, such as security, peace, health, property, children, and age.
In Sharh Saheeh Muslim by Imam Nawawi mentioned, a blessing to have two meanings: (1) grow, develop, or increase; and (2) continuous goodness. According to Imam Nawawi, origin meaning of blessing is "the good of the many and lasting".
In everyday life we often hear the word "seek blessings", intends to seek additional goodness or kindness, goodness either in the form of increased wealth, fortune, or in the form of health, science, and good deeds (reward).
Blessing said in the Quran
In the Qur'an the word blessing (baraka) comes with several meanings, among them: the permanence of kindness, a lot, and the increase in goodness. Al-Quran itself is a blessing for people as his word:
"This (Quran) is a Book which We have sent down to you, full of blessings that they pay attention to the verses and that those who have a mind to get a lesson." (QS. Shaad: 29).
Blessings in the sense of goodness, safety, and well-being are listed in the following verse:
"If it were the people of the country's faith and fear, surely We will bestow on them the blessings of heaven and earth." (QS. Al-Araf: 96).
Blessing said in the Hadith
In the hadith is also found the word blessing, all lead to the goodness and reward.
"Gather your top food and celebrate the name of God, God will give the blessing on you in it." (HR. Abu Daud)
"O Allah, bless my people who (excited) in the morning." (HR. Abu Daud).
"The seller and the buyer was given a choice for both has not been separated. When both are honest and explain (condition goods), then they are endowed in purchasing sales. However, if both hide and lie, then it will be removed blessing purchase both. "(HR. Bukhari, Muslim).
"Indeed, Allah tests His servants with administration. Whoever voluntarily by sharing God against him, then God will give her blessing and will extend it. And whoever is not willing, then it will not get the blessing. "(HR. Ahmad).
