UNDERSTANDING ISLAM

Islam is a religion that was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad as the last prophet and apostles to be the way of life of all mankind until the end of time.

Definition harfiyah Islam means peace, congratulations, subject, and clean. The word Islam is formed of three letters, namely S (sin), L (lam), M (mim) the basic meaning "congratulations" (Salama)

Understanding Islam according to the Quran is listed in a number of verses.
1. Islam is derived from the word "as-silmi" which means peace
"And if they incline to peace, then incline to it and put thy trust in Allah. Verily He is the All Hearing, the Knowing. "(QS. Al-Anfal: 61).

2. Islam is derived from the word "aslama" which means surrender (surrender).
"And who is better in religion than one who willingly submit themselves to God, while he too doing good, and he followed the religion of Abraham, the upright? and Allah took Ibrahim into his favorite "(QS. An-Nisa: 125).

3. Islam is derived from the word "istalma mustaslima" which means total submission to God.
"Even on the day they give themselves" (QS. Ash-Saffat: 26)

4. Islam is derived from the word "saliimun Salim" which means clean and pure.
"Unless people to God with a pure heart" (QS. Asy-Syu 'fig: 89)

5. Islam is derived from the word "Salamun" which means congratulations.
"He said:" May salvation bestowed unto you, I will ask forgiveness for you to the Lord. Verily He is very kind to me "(QS. Maryam: 47).

Understanding Islam according to the Quran is sufficient to contain the message that Muslims should love peace, surrender to the provisions of Allah, clean and pure from harsh deeds, as well as world-hereafter safely secured when carrying out the message of Islam. And Allah knows best.
